In 2016 Friends of Monze received a grant from the Welsh Assembly Government supported by Hub Cymru Africa to establish a permaculture garden at Sichiyanda school. We had to erect a fence around the whole school to keep wandering goats from eating the vegetables. Each class has their own plot to grow crops.

The school borehole collapsed in 2016 so we drilled a new borehole providing water to the garden. 

Training was delivered by Mugove Walter Nyika and internationally recognised permaculture expert and ReSCOPE Seeding Schools facilitator.
